Multiple Domains on a single IP

Is it good for promoted sites to share the same IP ?

Hy everybody,

I work for a web agency specialising in SE promotion. We are changing the hosting service and one provider offered us the possibility of dynamic IPs.

I remember a post saying it can be a problem for SE spiders (one site spamming=all sites spammed, for example). Now we have to chose between static IPs or dynamic IPs, can someone help me?

If you are a web design company who is hosting clients site on a hosted server, why dont you just get a unique dedicated IP for each domain?

Our hosting company does this - as many as we need for a 15 dollar set up and an extra 1 dollar a month within our transfer and space limitations.

the disclaimer is I dont know what dynamic IP's are! I know our dial up ISP allocates a different IP every time we log in, but Im not sure about the other way around..

Thank you Chiyo, maybe dynamic IP is not the right name... Now we offer one IP for one domain. We are considering the possibility of having on the same IP more than one website (virtual hosting?).

How do search engine spiders react? I hope it is clearer now:-)

My experience is that most SEs are okay about virtual hosting (multiple domains on one IP)

I run a hosting company and most sites have some ranking.

In my experience, I have had no problems with hosting multiple sites on one IP. I do however know of at least one person around here that believes that there are potential problems (try the site search :)).
