dynamic table from db results

i need to create a dynamic table with two columns, db structure looks like this:

¦ id ¦ cid ¦ title
-------------------
¦ 1 ¦ 2 ¦ hardware
¦ 2 ¦ 3 ¦ software
¦ 3 ¦ 3 ¦ software
¦ 4 ¦ 2 ¦ hardware

how can i have cid 2 (hardware) on left column and cid 3 (software) on right column? can this be done with 1 query?
