php question

wont work on earthlink

I imagine I will get my hand slapped for this but gata ask.
do any of you out there have any accounts with Earthlink and if so ( and I cant get any help from them ) , I cant get any php to run on Earthlink unless I name the files php4 and I don’t wish to rename over a 100 files I have tried using htaccess to allow php to be read from a html file but it appears nothing I do works.
I hope I am asking the right question as this thing has me stumped.

Earthlink should fix it in their server configuration to match the rest of the world. But there might still be a workaround in .htaccess.
