I got my first SEO job.
And it mostly consists of giving advice. All the actual changes will be done by a proffesional webmaster. This is quite ok for me, because it saves me a lot of work.
Now I come to the part of finding links. They gave me a links page and I can edit this page by myself. Very nice. But the problem is that it is written in PHP. And so far I have never worked with it.
The only editing that I will be doing are adding and changing links. So I can do this little coding by hand.
Can I just use Notepad for this?

My main problem here is not the coding, but the saving and uploading. I do not want to make a mess on this site.

Have a working copy saved and stored somewhere safe. That way if you ever make a mistake you can revert to the last working version.

I use a free php editor I found that makes editing a little easier - it highlights the syntax, matches up brackets, includes line numbers (handy for fixing those errors).
I find it easier useful than editing in notepad, and easier on the eyes.
Let me know if you want the name of the editor.

Arisesoft Winsyntax 2.0 - I've just had a quick look and it looks like you can no longer download it from the original site but a quick search for the associated zip - aswsyn20.zip and I found somewhere to get it from. (I still have the zip if anyone gets desperate)

I'll save it somewhere safe first and try the notepad thing first. Should not be too difficult.
Thanks for the freeware ideas. I'll look at that too. Might be more convenient in the future.
