is your "text" doc. that your using for testing... named hello.php or hello.txt? as in the question before, what did you use to create it?

Could it be that you have "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" enabled in your "My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View" section, and that you are using Notepad (or similar) to create your files, and when you save them you are leaving the "Show files of type:->Text file (.txt)" active ...

So when you save the file it ends up being named "hellp.php.txt" , automatically adding the extension you "requested" during the save?

Check your "Folder Options". Uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types". When you save your files, select "Showing files of type:->All files". And then visually inspect the saved document to be sure it only has the one, proper extension.
