I wanna configure a fully-featured Web directory for my boss. Tried install with 'phplinks'; its messy. I've set to allow 'automatic-transit' session-variables and 'global-variables' still 'phplinks' is showing not much life! ( It's not inserting/fetching data from db ).
I may mention 'phplinks' is using bad code conventions. But, still it is used popularly. So, someone, either please give me url of a better 'Web sites directory engine' or help me with 'phplinks'.
I say, phplinks is not a good solution; so some other engine'll b good

phplinks can be downloaded from sourceforge.

Every installation of PHP_Links I've seen so far has had Session ID's and has NOT been properly indexed by search engines.

Here's hoping for future builds that those issues are corrected.

Ok, I've found much better ( many ) s/w from a Web site ( I can't mention here, bacause of Webmaster World policy ) that has links to Web directory s/w. Problem is most of these ask $$ for license ( PHP/CGI scripts; I'm surprised! ). So can people here, give me ideas, if I can write such a nice script myself. Features should be counts hits, traffic, visitors, broken-links, validity of Web sites listed in many categories/sub-categories. Tell me ( help me ), your ideas. Interesting enough, I think!
