php.net switches to Google search

What do you think?

Well, I know this isn't breaking news but I haven't heard it discussed here. I first noticed about 3-4 weeks ago(I think?).

I preferred the php.net search when I knew the name of the function or section I was interested in. It would automatically redirect to the page.

However, if you are not sure(namewise) what you are after, the new Google based search is much better, IMHO.

Any other thoughts, or does anyone even care? I think that would be a great solution for WW, as well.

I agree it would be great for Webmasterworld. I quite often find myself using the toolbar to search within the site. Not only does it provide good results it also saves this site's bandwidth. ;-)

They switched it with all the geo loaction changes.

Frankly, i hate it, drives me crazy. My google settings have every link open in a new window, which I want on G but having multiple php.net windows open is stupid. It has significantly reduced the usability of the site for me. Function searches are still fine but anything else has become a chore.
