I have just uploaded a forum, PHPbb. I was reading this guide [webmasterworld.com] I found the tips great but if possible could someone explain in more detail:

- How to make the pages static?
- A little information about mod rewrites?
- Any other tips that you have used in the past - purely in terms of SEO.

This is a big part of making a successful forum so all information posted would make for great discussion.

A little information about mod rewrites?

Is there anything specific you would like to know about them?

Hi kodaks,

Thanks for your reply. I found out that you dont need mod rewrites to make pages static. Just some code changes to take out session IDs to make the pages better for bots to crawl.

Thanks,

rj87uk,

I too run a phpbb, curious as to how you made the pages static. Any help?
