Hi, I'm building a stock management application using PHP and MySQL. I've done a few standalone PHP pages before but never a whole application. I just found out today about XMLHttpRequest which, in conjunction with PHP/MySQL, can be used to refresh data without refreshing the whole page. I thought that was pretty cool. Are there any other cool functions in PHP, or can be used with PHP, that will help me build a better user interface for my users? Thanks!

I think this got no real response is because it is too vague. It is hard to dig up any gems when there is no specific question.

how about this
PHP bag of tricks IV [webmasterworld.com]

all the earlier threads are linke from there as well. That should give you something to chew on. There a bunch of other things in the PHP Library [webmasterworld.com] as well

Flash can do the same as XmlHt... Well, it's just called "Ajax" nowadays... Anyway, Flash's not PHP.

I'll send you a sticky on something else i can't mention here..
