Hi,
I too am from NZ and have spent the last 6 months looking for good php programmers but all the good ones I have found are overworked and charge a preimum for their service. I have ended up dealing with a guy in india (risky at first but seens to be working well now) and although nothing beats meeting face to face and discussing options and requirements I feel international programmers can do a good job too.
