A very interesting opportunity.

Its purpose is to provide financial support for the PHP-related open-source projects that have the potential of bringing the greatest benefit to the PHP community in general.

On June 30, we will announce the assignments of two $1,000 grants to as many projects selected among those who will have entered into the program.

That almost makes me want to learn PHP even though I only do a bit here and there in Perl. :)

I think that's a great idea to stimulate innovation for the language - excellent way to go.

A good concept but only a $1000? I don't think that'll buy much innovation.

I thought the same thing lorax but at least they are helping promote innovation even if it is only $1000 worth.
