Hello world, in a site i have a textarea form. Symbols there could be more then 255 but less then 999. Can anybody advice me a field type in a mysql?

I think you'll want the TEXT type. It'll hold 64K, which is way more than you need, but the next smaller is TINYTEXT, which will hold only 255 characters. Also, don't be afraid to check out the manual [dev.mysql.com] for confirmation when you have questions like this.
