Apache module mod_rewrite

Need to beome knowlegeable about it

I know it has been quite often discussed
however it is very fragmented info

so where should I start to dig in the subject
I need to really understand the URL re write aspect

I think the best way to understand Apache's mod_rewrite is to dig and start playing with it. As far as resources? I mostly use the Apache mod_rewrite docs and the URL Rewriting Guide (links are at the bottom of the Apache Forum Charter [webmasterworld.com]), which, of course, is the best place to go when you finally get stuck ;)
