I finally was able to get the Apache server setup on my laptop thanks to the great tutorial written by henry0 in this form. Now I have a question that may seem simple to some. Where do i save my html documents and php documents for veiwing and testing? Would it be better to setup folders to mimick my online server as in includes and images also in what every folder i need to access and test them thru

You certainly could. But perhaps you should start off with some basics to get you rolling. You know in the Apache configuration when you told Apache where the DocumentRoot was? That's where you can drop your files. Then when you call that filename up in your browser, you should see it.

Well that sure is nice to hear and yes, I agree, henry0 did a nice job putting that together. Once you get rolling with Apache, you'll discover more and more how powerful that HTTP server is ... and you'll love it. There is an Apache Forum [webmasterworld.com] here at WebmasterWorld, too. Lots of good folks ready to help in that arena as well.
