Php, .... The choosing

seeking advice on getting started

I'm young in php programming, but i need to write a site, as fast as possible. Site is devote to a travels, tourism, and vacations. I'll use a map navigation. I will have a big database of hotels,
What do u choose for this puprpose? php may be aspx what database and so on...

I'd go with php for programming and mysql as the database. If you're familiar with other languages (especially C) then you'll be up and running in no time. See this thread for some learning resources. [webmasterworld.com...]

best part is its free, if your hosting yourself of coarse. Some times I wish i knew vb and SQL for aspx, but dont got the money for that kind of software. Here is a build that I use for php, mysql, apache server. I actually dont have the link, but google for apache server and apache2triad or apache 2 triad.
