Upload, Reduce Resolution and create thumbnail of Image

Is all of this conceivable. I have seen upload scripts and the odd thumbnail generator. However can you get all three. To stop people ramming the server with high res images.

trouble is the big fat image still needs to be uploaded because php is a little lost is it isn't on the server. ;)
