Notepad++ won't recognise opendir, readdir, fgets or feof?

From the start of the php script my file won't recognise opendir, readdir, feof or fgets. Any idea what I cold be doing wrong?

I'd --Notepad and -- the PC, buy a Mac, download TextWrangler and not get headaches... LOL
Not sure what exactly you mean by "Notepad won't recognize" -- Are you meaning when you run/execute the file PHP won't recognize them or do you mean Notepad won't show/highlight them as valid?
