teaching people php/mysql

need help

ever since I have learned php/mysql, peeps have been asking me how to make their applications in php and mysql. I told them to view source codes of scripts and they'll figure it out like I did. It doesn't seem to work, where do I start teaching them, I figure I could always go through the basics of loops, blocks, etc.

Tell them to do a google for "php tutorial", "php mysql tutorial" thats how I learned and I am now configuring databases, and using dynamic pages.

Let them start a projekt.. Like making an homepage with a login and a newsscript or something like that, so they have something to work towards.

But most of the people who will ask for help doesnt really want to learn PHP, they just want their homepage to do this and that. 90% will ask you if you wont please please, make the homepage for them.

If they dont WANT to learn, you cant teach them. Usually if they cant follow a tutorial they dont REALLY want to learn, but sometimes they just need a little extra push... Start up by trying to find out if they really want to do this, or else you will just be wasting your time.

Forget the "basics", teach them what they want to learn, when they want to learn it, for a fee.

Just remember that what they want to learn may not always be what you want to teach them at the moment, or what experience tells you they really need to learn at the moment.

That last part could add substantially to the fees you collect.
