I'm going to start serving banners & skyscrapers on one of my sites.

No ad networks. This is direct Sales. Advertisers will pay me, and I'll show their banners.

So, I'd like to find a decent open-source solution for managing this.

the environment is LAMP.

must-have:
- rotate banner based on weighted probability, and capped impressions (CPM)
- a nice, not-too-bloaty console for the advertisers to manage their creatives
- basic analytics (impressions, clicks, CTR)

Any suggestions?

I would prefer something in code that I install and style up with my own skin, rather than a SAAS or 3rd party thing

I haven't used it for awhile, but OpenX was hands down the best around ... in fact, it was _too_ feature rich and took longer to learn the ropes because of it.

I'm writing my own open source Display Ad module at the moment, but it doesn't have all the features you request, and there will be a modest price tag on it.

Happy software hunting.

We used OpenX successfully in the past as well. Since moving most of our sites to the WordPress CMS platform, we use a plugin called OIO Publisher. (Paid product, I am not affiliated with in any way)

We also tried out Google DoubleClick for Publishers at one point, which works like any of the others, but you can integrate with other Google products pretty easy.
