Custom php formailers on Godaddy

why must people keep using godaddy?

anybody have any clue about how to make custom php formmailers work on godaddy? i have a couple of forms on a clients site and i do not want to use go daddy's code to process them (and i am not sure they would)

i am using the exact same forms on other sites (franchises of the same parent company) that are on different servers, and they work totally fine. and of course...godaddy is no help.

I have mail forms running on several different GoDaddy accounts without problems. They're mostly simple scripts, but I've made some that send attachments and more. Post your PHP code.

Errors?
No errors, have you added error reporting at the tops of scripts? Sometimes it's off by default (security issue.)
Shared, VPS, Dedi?

If it's shared, I seem to recall issues with connecting to mail servers via PHP on G.D. shared hosting. It has to do with their mail relay server.

What email or relay server should I use in my PHP code? [help.godaddy.com]

That link is **probably** incorrect because you are most likely using mail(). But it will possibly be something along those lines . . .

why must people keep using godaddy?

It's cheap, their response for VPS/Dedi plans is fairly quick, and fairly reliable, even their shared plans.

i am actually using forms from freecontactforms.com using their pro license ( i know that makes me a cheater)

i am away from my computer right now that would enable me to post my code...BUT the same forms work elsewhere

i am getting no errors, when i click submit, i am redirected to my thank you screen and it acts like all is happy, i just never get the emails.

Stuart over at freecontactforms (who has always been wicked helpful) has suggest i try adding the customers emailaddress in the "from address" section of the config file. so i will try that later tonight.

i am totally dumb when it comes to php. so if i sound like a total fool with all of this...sorry.

Many thanks
