I don't know if this is in the proper section but I am attempting to do something...

I am working on a site for a college tennis team's fund raising campaign for Ronald McDonald House. Know that I am not charging for this site at all. So any offers to assist with this problem would have to be done at really cheap prices but I am not against paying so long as I can learn at the same time.

This is not something I have dealt with yet.

The client wants a "donations" page. Where someone can log on, select and fill out their info and make a donation. I need the form to do a few things.

#1 It needs to create a database. I have found a plugin that does this. [wordpress.org...]

#2 I need to be able to code in the site in certain areas numbers that will update from this database automatically. Such as on the front page a banner that states "We have raised $$$ so far!" I need the $$$ to represent a sum of the donations.

#3 Each tennis player will be tracked individually and the pledges are going to be for "each win." So... The math will get a little complex in the coding but it is pretty simple I think once I get it figured out that will not be a problem. I have programmed in Basic before so math isn't to hard.

I just have no clue where to go with this.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks so much!

Literally just pointed in the right direction would be great.. I don't mind learning.. but I dont' know where to start with this one.

Thanks

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, jerkjone.

Accepting donations would likely require a secure certificate and secure transactions, unless you aren't actually processing monetary transactions. Did you get this project off the ground?
