Hello people,

I have installed lampp on my linux box and have tried to install it using the same mysql settings as my windows box (dual boot), but after I have extracted the files as per the website instructions, and come to set the administrative password in the config.inc.php file (1.2Kbit file) I open it to edit, and low and behold - it's empty!

In order for maximum transportability I need for both installations to have the same credentials, and this is the only thing that has cropped up that has meant this isn't so.

Stumped!

Suggestions?

Cheers,
MRb

I'm surprised that a 1.2KB file is empty. Perhaps the text editing tool is not opening and displaying the contents of the file properly?

Hi there Coopster,

I can't help but laugh really, yes the file was 1.2Kb and was completely empty - I tried every known trick I knew to open it to see it's contents; alas; the comical thing is VISTA again had this dang 'windows repair virus', and I am currently waiting for a new HDD for my laptop, currently on my backup - needless to say that the config file is now deceased.

I would love to know what happened; this time I shall install linux as main boot and see how I progress.

Thanks for taking the time to answer the post.

Cheers,
MRb
