I received a phone call from my old seo company and they said just thought I'd let you know your dropping down the results on google because someone is adding bad links to your site come back to us and we will sort it out

Check for yourself if your ranking on Google is going down. It may just be an attempt to regain your business.

As I understand such things, it may be someone spamming links to your site on other websites, which to Google's ranking algorithm is an attention grab - which subsequentially results in your ranking taking a hit.
