I have a Joomla based site and am planning to integrate a Google API weather widget into it using Gavick tools.
The tool developer states that cURL should be active on your host server for the app to run correctly.
I got the cURL feature activated and simultaneously my site creashed. I had to deactivate cURL to bring back my site.
I checked with my hosting provider about this problem. They stated that I will have to file a "allow out-bound connections" ticket.
They require the following information:
Please allow the outbound connections for scripts for FTP username: #*$!#*$!
Local script filename (and location) which needs the outbound connection:
1.
2.
...
Remote server IP address and port number:
1.
2.
...
Exact purpose of this connection:
1.
2.
...
Please note that our firewall is IP based. If the remote host changes its IP address in the future, please notify us of the change.
Even after several conversations with the hosting company & the tool developer, I am unable to understand what all this means. I am just bouncing between the developer and the hosting company.
Please suggest a solution for this.
Thanks.
