Hello! I have developed a site which uses a TTF-font and imagefttext to create text on an image.

This worked fine on my local machine which runs under Windows XP. Uploading the site now to a linux-webserver, the text is someway broader, faded out and has some visible artefacts on the serifs.

I thought perhaps the GD- or FreeType-Lib on the server is old, but its:

My Machine:
GD Version 2.0.34 compatible, FreeType Version 2.1.9

Server:
GD Version 2.0.34 compatible, FreeType Version 2.3.5

Any ideas what I can do to enchance the text-rendering on the linux-server?

I'm not sure you are going to be able to do anything about that. Is it absolutely necessary to have both of the fonts look exactly the same? Is it that much different?
