share details of purchase on facebook = $5 off

I have the idea of implementing a system that once someone purchases a product of mine, to give them the option of clicking a button that would share the news of their purchase on facebook for all their friends to see. As a reward for sharing on facebook, they would receive $5 off their order (a partial refund, perhaps?) Any idea on how to implement this?

That is actually a good idea. You should several things to that like twitter or give them a list to choose from. You would have to code that yourself or pay somebody to do that. I don't think there is anything that does that out of the box.

With facebook you would have to create a facebook app I think. I could be wrong on that.

I used to use a facebook app that automatically updated my status with news about their (the app creators') cause. Recently facebook has banned/blocked automatic status updates; so your users will have to manually change their status - which defeats the purpose.

Oh yeah I noticed that robot builder was doing updates differently. You can have it go to a page where they just click on a button that updates their status.

Maybe they click a button that generates a code that they then type into my website while checking out and will give them the discount?
