test server for cms

what is needed?

Hi,
I want to set up a test server on my computer to try out some cms's but not sure what is needed so I dont have to ftp them to my site all the time. I got a little confused as to which ones to use e.g xamp wamp ect.. and what would be the most easiest to set up & use. as most of the cms I want to try need a database.

Im using wamp. You can test your php files, mySQL Database, htaccess, mod rewrite etc

I installed wamp & its pretty easy!
