Searching for a member registration script

Hope I got the right forum for this!

I've got a site for our cottage association and we want to automate the annual membership renewal process.

Need a script that will let people register or renew their existing membership, edit their contact information. The membership is for the association NOT the website, no protected area needed beyond the admin area.

This will only be an option as there are still some members who will download and mail in the form with a cheque.

We want to process payments using paypal.

Added bonus would be to have ability to send quarterly newsletter to those with email addresses.

Most of what I find online are scripts to protect an area of a site for login. We just want to process our registration and renewals for the group.

Any direction would be appreciated.

OH.. can be php / perl / ajax etc. NOT asp please. Prefer xhtml valid scripts if possible.

Not many replies here ... I did a quick search over sourceforge and find pieces of each, but nothing all-inclusive. You may end up either grabbing the pieces and writing some of your own code to pull it all together or just write your own from scratch. Anybody else have anything to add?
