how can a web surfer stop from being redirected to another website when he clicks on a specific link?

The redirects could be server side redirects, php for example. There doesn't seem to be anything you can do on this case to stop from being redirected.

But curious, why do you want to stop a website from redirecting you when what they really wanted to do is basically redirecting you?
