hi everyone, i'm still new to this forum, but i've been working in e-commerce for a few years now. i recently decided to take on a personal project of developing a niche price comparison site for a particular category. i've noticed that hardly any of the major retail websites have data feeds for their products as this industry is pretty new and still growing.

i'm very familiar with HTML, CSS and Javascript, but my server-side scripting is virtually non-existent. i know that i'm going to have to build up the product database by hand without the data feeds, but i really don't want to run the site with pure html. i need to use some PHP or ASP.NET to get the products into categorical pages dynamically, otherwise i'll be wasting a great deal of time trying to do without. i'm going to be taking a C#.NET and ASP.NET course this year at school, so i'm sure i'll be able to handle the project after that, but i'd much rather get it going right now.

so, my question is; has anybody else been in this type of situation? what did you do? did you outsource? if so, how did you find a reliable and trust worthy programmer? if there are any of you out there, please pm me.

thanks!

You might begin by using some of the OpenSource packages that are free to use. Check Oscommerce, and if you search this site [google.com] you will find many other good resources.

And you might need to revise WW TOS, as your post seems to violate it to a small extent :)

If you want to find a programmer you`ll need to post in our commercial exchange forum:
