Interactive Plat Map

For a real estate site

Ive seen several sites that have the interactive plat maps, that when you hover over a certain lot, a tooltip pops up and you can see information about the house. the map also dynamically updates the status of the lots based on the information usually triggered by a local MLS server.

The map communicates with the server and adjusts the map according to the status of the home...

has anyone got a good solution for this?...cheap preferrably.

You will need someone to do a "mashup" of the Google Maps API and code that communicates with the MLS server.

Depending on what the "local MLS server" is running, how it connects to the web, etc. the project could be very complicated, and most likely, not very cheap at all.

Also, given the value that the application would add to realtors, it's easy to see why it wouldn't come cheap. If there would be little or no added value, then the project would not be worth doing. ;)
