I run a very small site that deals with travel to Russia. I have been asked by two friends running small hotels there to offer their rooms on the site, so now want to create, or buy ready made, an online hotel reservation system that will do the following:
Admin - allow me to add an unlimited number of new properties, edit signup templates for new hotels, edit confirmation emails sent to customers, edit the percentage of the booking taken as a deposit.
Hotel administrator - allow each hotel's administrator to log on and update rates and availability for his/her particular hotel. Also to update text, photos, on facilities at the hotel etc.
Front end - a search that allows the site visitor to search availability across all hotels in the system. The search should present the visitor with a list of hotels with availability during the requested dates, and also display information on the hotels - photos, facilities and comments/reviews/feedback by previous guests. There should also be a function to add new feedback and comments for those who have stayed in the hotel. Once the visitor has decided to book a room, he should be taken to a payment page (which I will integrate myself with PayPal) and, on receipt of payment, a confirmation email sent out to him or her.
The hotels I plan to work with are tiny, and are not part of any major reservations network, so the task should be simpler I believe.
Although the features I am looking for are pretty straightforward, I put a lot of emphasis on the look of my site, so the system must be easily customisable to my design via CSS.
I have searched and searched the internet for systems to buy, but everything seems very poor quality (if I have missed a good system, please let me know!)
Does anybody have an idea where I could get something like this? Many posters on this forum say they have previously implemented hotel booking systems - could you let me know where you obtained them? If you developed them yourselves, is there any way to get a copy of the code?
My budget is very tight, so do you think I would have any success contracting a coder through Elance etc to do the work if no ready made solution is out there?
