This release continues to improve the security and the stability of the 5.X branch as well as addressing two regressions introduced by the previous 5.2 releases. These regressions relate to the timeout handling over non-blocking SSL connections and the lack of HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA in certain conditions.

change log [php.net]

not too many fixes, but something new nonetheless :)

on the release of 5.2.0 I had discussed this in another forum in a very long thread. This is not good for Zend or Andy to play with versions like this. instead of releasing versions each month they should concentrate and set a proper goal for the next php version in every release we hear about dozens of bugs fixed in PHP then why don't they take their time and give a very stable product because for developers as well as for companies it is not easy to upgrade their servers for each version as it comes out so often. I am not going to upgrade my php just for bugs fixes but if they offer something new like an improved WDDX system as you all know PHP WDDX sucks so they should rather concentrate on new features.

well, they've never released monthly versions

>> they should rather concentrate on new features

if all your time is spent on new things, not making sure the old ones are working then you will find you have a horrible product rather quickly.

I've never really had any trouble with the way they do releases. When your cycle gets to aa point that it has accmulated adequate changes and/or new features then you release it. If they find something that needs to be fixed quickly they have been good at fixing it.

nothing is perfect but they're pretty good.

you have strong arguments in their support but still I will upgrade my php only on the release of php 6 which, I am sure, will come out very soon :)
