I just installed phpmyadmin on my windows server. First off, I'll start by saying I'm php illiterate. I'm an asp developer. But in order to offer hosting for others on my server, I need to offer this tool. I installed the latest version of php then installed this program.

When you first bring up the page, it generates an error (<snip>) But if you clear the query string and re-open the home page, it brings up the login page.

I've set up the working config file based on the example config file, but changed the control user name and password. I also ran the commands to add the necessary permissions for the new control user.

So my first question is: What is causing the error and how can it be eliminated?

My next question is: Once this is running properly, how do I set user limits on how many databases they can create?

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

What is the error that you are receiving on the main page? Without this, it is hard to help you. Secondly, are you sure that you've installed everything correctly? Read the documentation [phpmyadmin.net] over real quick to make sure you took all the necessary steps to setting up phpmyadmin on your server.

Post the error and we'll see what we can do. :)
