Easy vbulletin+vbseo integration with Drupal and Joomla?

How easy is it to integrate vbulletin+vbseo with Drupal/Joomla?

I'm investigating software to use on a new project, and I've narrowed it down to the following two setups:

- Drupal, vbulletin, vbseo
- Joomla, vbulletin, vbseo

However, how easy is the integration?

The products I've found so far in my research are drupaltin and vbdrupal for drupal integration and bbpixel for joomla integration.

Clearly vbulletin and vbseo will integrate ok, but how about drupal with vbulletin+vbseo? And how about Joomla with bulletin+vbseo?

I'm interested in real world integration experiences of this software, please please please inform me!

Not a lot of feedback yet, theboyduck. I'm thinking you might be the first to have a go at it and report back to us!

Well I haven't tried any combinations out myself yet, but what I can do is give an overview of what I found out with the Drupal / Vbulletin side of things.

The two drupal vbulletin integration options are vbdrupal and drupaltin:

vbdrupal
Doesn't (yet) support drupal 5, but does support earlier versions. Drupal 5 support is being worked on however. Drupal 4.7 and earlier support appears to be stable. If you want drupal 5 support check back on the web site as by the time you're reading this it may be available.

drupaltin
Supports drupal 5, but not earlier versions. This is the new kid on the block compared with vbdrupal, but development from the outside does appear more active.

If I had to choose between the 2 now, I would go with drupaltin just because I'm used to drupal 5 and have precious little experience with earlier versions.

However, what I've decided to do is not to decide :-).

The priority for this project is to get it up and running asap. So for the sake of speed I'm going with vbulletin plus vbseo plus static html for the home page, about, faq, etc. Then for the blog host a separate wordpress blog. And for newsletter sign up I'm not sure yet. Maybe a form on the home page that posts through to a 3rd party provider or a php mailing list script if I can find one and have the time and inclination to set it up (any recommendations are most welcome btw).

The reason is that these static pages are going to be hit the most, far more than the vbulletin pages, and there will be no need for these front facing pages to be dynamic for the first release, so to save some cpu cycles and to fall in line with my agile methodology upbringing I think static is the way to go in this case, for now...

If you are thinking to go for static pages , i would suggest you to go for drupal and vb , and vbseo

go for version 4.7 , you wont regret it , if version 5 is not supported at moment , think of using 4.7 its better to integrate things like static pages and blogging etc by using drupal then using static pages

if you are in serious doubt about capability of drupal , i suggest you simple way , just take rss feeds of your vb and then put it on your drupal pages , you can do anything with it

just have a go , if you are in real hurry and not in mood to experiment then do as you feel fine , but i would for sure vote for drupal and vb , vbseo

plz...i dont know anything about joomla so cant even comment on it , may be its better but i dont know anything about it
