Need help with phpMyAdmin

I've just set up APACHE, MYSQL, and PHP. I've uploaded the phpMyAdmin stuff to my server but can't get access.
#1045 - Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES)
I'm deffinately missing something or just a simple step. Any idea's folks. Please this is wrecking my head.

Assuming you've followed all of the steps for installing phpmyadmin [phpmyadmin.net], have you been able to get into mysql manually?

My initial guess is that you don't have phpmyadmin configured properly with your credentials, but that's only a guess, it could be something else. Make sure that mysql works with that username and password manually before using it in the config file :)
