Hello,

There are many resources [webmasterworld.com] available online and at your local bookstore that can get you started with php and mysql.

If you need any further assistance, don't hesitate to ask :)

>>>connect them to my site

Are you having your website hosted for you or are you doing this yourself?

Making mistakes is put of the learning process.

But maybe you are looking for something that you can just install. There are many packages out there for Linux and Windows that will auto install a web server environment for you with Apache, mySQL, and PHP installed for you. You can do a search on LAMP or WAMP. For Windows, I use NuSphere free product that installs everything for you. Pretty easy to setup. There are many others like it out there that are free.
