My hosting account provides only PHP4.
Can I somehow install PHP5 in my shared server directory and redirect .php pages to it?

Not sure, You need to have access to your HTTPD conf file, to be able to restart Apache after modif httpd
then in a shared environment if you are wrong about including php5 in httpd you server after restarting might go blank, and only your ISP will be able to perform a reinstall

Did you ask them?
you might consider moving your account to a php5 environment.

I guess I have to change a provider then...

Can you recommend any with price around $6/mo, php5, multiple domains, ftp, mysql and ... fast connection?

Hi wizpl,

We cannot allow promotional links on this forum, so your best bet would be to try a search on Google.
