Hello and thanks in advance:

I am looking for a Search engine friendly directory script that works with PHP and flat files...not MySql.

The only one I have found works with MySQl which I have not been able to setup because I do not know how to create a MySQL db from my windows desktop....

Any ideas.

Thanks for your time...

Turboseek by focalmedia is search engine friendly and uses flat files, not php though you need access to a cgi bin

You need a program like phpmyadmin or mysqlfront to access mysql

It would be the best $146 you will ever spend,

fully automated site submissions, built in spider, spam blocker, dead link checker, and more, these things you do not get with a free script.

Flat files, IMHO are a subsititue to a real SQL database.
You should be able to setup a mysql database pretty easily on windows, I've done it quite a few times.
(and if i hit ctrl-alt-del right now i'll see i have a mysql server running that i don't even remember installing on this laptop)
but seriously, there are some great tutorials and installers, free, for php&mysql on windows, search google for a few.
Once you have mysql installed there are lots of free directory scripts that you can either modify yourself or run as-is.

Check Phpmydirectory, you can request a mod_rewrite version that's search engine friendly. It's a very powerfull script..
