Should I make this, or pay someone to do it.

I dont know any php.. but I just bought a book on it.

I want to make a database where visitors could input some information about themselves... age... price range willing to pay... times avaliable... education... special skills...

And then the php would bring back from the database all the results which fit the conditions.

If is very difficult to do so that I should let an expert do? Or is this simple enough so I could learn how to do.

I think you could do it zulufox. It sounds like the perfect little starter project to learn the basics of php and mysql.

Zulufox, you can definitely do it! I did not know one single thing about php until just a few weeks ago.

I found that most of the coding explanations were way above me, and they did not show where in the script certain coding should be added. A snippet of code, or the php manual did nothing for me. I need to see the whole thing. So I started adding the words "tutorial" and "basics" in my search phrases on the internet. I needed to study entire script examples to see how things worked together. A tutorial will give you the code and then will explain it, piece by piece. I also joined a number of forums and just read posts. That's when things started making sense. What I don't understand, I ask here, and there are wonderful people willing to help.

Books are great, but for me, I need to be able to copy and paste code, upload it, see how it works, edit it, etc. It is hard to copy and paste from a book unless it comes with a cd! Of course, this is just my beginner preference!

The point is, you can definitely do it. What was torture in the beginning, is now a great deal of fun! Enjoy!
