Need Info On PHP Scripts Available

Hello. I'm starting some new projects and I have never used PHP, etc.

I'm looking for something easy to use and understand but still looks professional if possible?

I've been searching G and I see some places like PopScript which has reasonable prices. What I'm unsure of is if these are any good? If not, can you recommend a place to get them that has good quality reliable scripts?

Also, when you buy these from say PopScript, I'm noticing that you seem to be choosing one template for the particular type of script you are purchasing. Can this be changed to other templates?

No need to buy scripts if you don't want to ... there are open source repositories full of software that we give back to the community. Have a search on sourceforge, freshmeat or hotscripts to see what I mean.
