PHP Guard Dog Alternative?

Hi everyone,
Last year I started setting up a site that allows parents to register their kids for the After School programs at the school I work for. I started with PHP Guard Dog because it was the best system I could find that was easy to use. I wanted a system that would enable parents to register their kids for classes, pay for the classes via paypal, for parents to be bale to log in and see what classes they registered for and what classes are available. Unfortunately the After School Program offerrings had to be pushed off last year, but now the school wants to start them the programs up again in the fall. However to my dismay PHPGuardDog has gone out of business and I cant find a similar system to use.

Does anyone know of a similar easy-to-use system that i can use instead?

Any advice is appreciated.

Anyone know why they went out of business?

I used the phpguarddog program once and found it to be very good.

I also need to use it again on another website or a decent alternative.

phpguarddog was / is a great app. It was so customisable and so easy to setup subscriptions.

I got the impression the author couldn't handle the support. In the early days he responded to questions on the messageboard but as the site became more successful the support seemed to dry up.

IMO he got too successful but decided that it was too much hassle to keep going.

That brings up some possibilities. As what you might be looking for could be a commercial system, I`m afraid you won`t see any urls here.

Most of the PHP Guard Dog pages are still in place. Pity they decided to quit.
