Framework vs CMS?

Better for designers, CakePHP, or Drupal?

I'm about to embark on a community/news website that will serve up stories via Wordpress fashion.

My question is for those who've had experience with CakePHP framework or the Drupal CMS.

What would be better for the designer type who goes after pixel perfect aesthetics?

Pros and cons of both? Is there anything that cannot be done with CakePHP, but can be done in Drupal, and vice versa?

Anyone use Wordpress as thier CMS and prefer it over Drupal?

Existing thread concerning same topic, reply with link?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, dnb_ovst.

You typically won't see a lot of discussion like this in the PHP Forum, probably why you don't see much for responses -- most folks here write their own code and we come here to share thoughts and ideas for doing so. Here nor there, maybe this bump will catch somebody's attention that has some other type of response ;)

How unfortunate! Welp, truth be told im a newb whos trying to bang out a high profile site in as little as time and as efficiently as possible... which is why im leaning toward using a framework/CMS.

If anyone has any insight, or perhaps an external link to a similar discussion, it would be greatly appreciated!
