Which language to choose?

Hi all,

I want to make an application, which involves
1) Get the #1 site from google SERPs
2) see the title of the #1 site , by reading the site.
3) see the backlinks to the #1 site using alltheweb or Google.

Which language will be more beneficial?, in a sense with allready inbuild functions or some already done functions.

Is there anyway to check the PR of the #1 site using some funtions.

Google API (http://www.google.com/apis/) but retrieving the PR is not possible without a toolbar or an entry in directory.google.com

How can I get the data from the toolbar or the directory using an application, Are there any APIs for that too.

You can get approximate data from the directory. Divide the length of the green bar by 40 and multiply by 10.

Haha. Google uses the following code for the bar:

Note: a comma in the <img> tag
