I'm new to php and am just completely clueless on how to make something that will search the database of my website...any help?

Probably the best thing to do is go find a simple tutorial. Good places to start are

devshed.com
phpbuilder.com
zend.com

There should be plenty there to give you a basic overview and some basic concepts.

Also, download the PHP manual and start looking through the Function Reference section for your database (MySQL in all likelihood)
