Maybe someone has a pointer or two!

I have successfully installed PWS.

Downloaded the installer and the windows binary from php.net

changed the .ini file and copied it into /windows

click on php.exe

ms dos window opens

and that's about it.

how do i get PHP to run on my PWS? I need a localhost for testing and developing since my internet access is very limited ...

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks a lot

Michael

Hi Michael, I know your posts states you want to run on PWS. But have you considered using Apache? NuSphere offers a free installation that includes Apache, PHP, and Perl. There's very little configuration out of the box.

That said, there are many WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP) self installing distros out there - you'll probably be much better off with them.

I've had good success with Firepages [firepages.com.au] on both Win 98 and XP.

I´m a big fan of [foxserv.net...]

I used to run it on win 98, now use it on win xp. Both work fine.

Foxserv has apache, php, perl, mysql, and who knows what else they´ve recently stuffed into it. All the `programs are already configured to work together. Only slight complaint is that they are jamming it so full of programs it is becomming a bit of bloatware.
