Good PHP-based Mailing List management software?

Looking for simple but reliable PHP mailing list software

Hello all,
I am hoping that someone here can help me find what I'm looking for. I am looking to run a mailing list off of my site. I currently use Yahoo Groups to maintain it, but would like to begin maintaining it myself using PHP and MySQL. I have looked at a few of the PHP packages out there, but havent been able to decide on one and was wondering if the nice folks here have had any experience with any. I am looking for the following features:
1. Allow users to join and unsubscribe using web-based form
2. Email verification to ensure user wants to join
3. I dont know if this exists, but it would be nice if it could somehow handle bounced (no longer valid, etc) emails in a nice way.
4. Be mySQL based to maintain lists of addresses, etc.
5. Be free :-)
Does anyone here have any recommendations?

Personally I would recommend List Messenger. Its really easy to set up, has a nice interface and is easily integrated into your site.

Thank you for your suggestion, it looks nice. I am wondering if anything similar exists that can handle 'bounced' emails as the list I am using is quite large (about 7000) and dont want to manually remove bounced emails from the list?
Does anyone know of anything like that?

Try this. It's freely offered. Does not require a dBase. Has super admin controls. I've used it and it works great on my website as a primary mailing list. Cheers.
