hey hey gyes is it possible to read to a key :client side

i mean in the registry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

so we could do a good statistic app reading this :)

and if its not possible via php how would we do it transparently?

It is possible with active Scripting enabled on IE. It is deisabled 99% but u might convince someone to turn it on and then u can read it.

This is unethical anyway and illegal

That's just about the most illegal thing I've ever read on WebmasterWorld.

Create a toolbar for IE (Note - I'm not picking on the finely programmed G bar here) or screensaver or some other crap program you can spam shareware sites with - use your embedded trojan to send registry info to your server.

This is how the big boys do it!

*quivers*

Don't encourage the guy! The LAST thing we need is more adware. What's next? Storing credit card numbers in the registry and digging them out with adware?
