membership managament scripts

I'm a programing novice, but was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction. I'm looking to find some open source, or reasonably priced scripts that will handle membership management and billing authentication on my website. I run an online photo gallery and would like to enable sale of high res wallpaper images, and would like to do this through the use of a subscription service; pay once per year, and download as many wallpapers images as you like. Any thoughts on any existing php scripts that would handle the payment process, preferably through paypal, and login management/authentication? One mention was dreamaccount, but I was warned about security issues.

We tend to "roll our own" in this forum, soboyle. The only place I can think of to find pre-packaged code are the open source repositories like sourceforge, freshmeat, hotscripts, etc.

are you using your own software or is something you found somewhere? There may be modules for the software you use.

Thanks for the replys, I see this was a more hard core group of programmers, my type of question probably doesn't belong here. My current site is html based, so no plug ins for that. I was hoping to keep it html based with the exception of some type of paid subscription functionality, and then a premium content area where members only can view content. I'll have a look at source forge.

you might want to look at some of the gallery scripts or some of the CMS's (content management system) around. I would think there would be something already made for this
