Finding user's location

maybe by matching gethostbyaddr() to a location?

I'm trying to write a script that returns the user's location (i.e: Bob sitting at home (gethostbyaddr() = xx.xx.xx.xx.btsomething.com) somewhere in the UK.), but I a) can't find a php function or class and b) can't find how other people do it! Can anyone help?
